On Monday, along with the Solstice, the Sun moved into Cancer where it resides until July 22. During this time we tend to be self-protective and more patriotic under this influence. Our attention turns to our nest–our families, homes, and anything that makes us feel “at home”, safe, and secure. There is more of a “charity begins at home” attitude. Nurturing and taking care of our loved ones and home projects comes into focus. Emotions run deep when the Sun is Moon ruled and we are more susceptible to mood swings while the Sun is in the sign of the crab.
While the Sun is in Cancer the USA celebrates its 240th birthday on July 4th. Next week I will cover the USA’s chart and the country’s year ahead. Look for many changes of direction beyond the presidential election.
Mars is retrograde until the 29th, now in the sign of Scorpio (since May 27th). Mars turned retrograde on April 17th, and will remain retrograde until June 29th. We are in the position to re-assess our current projects, our approach to getting what we want, and our desire nature. Mars energy is essentially turned inward–it’s internalized, intensified, personalized, and perhaps pressurized. There has been passive-aggressive behavior during this cycle as I warned. Since Mars has been in Scorpio there has been more aggressive covert behavior. Mars moves back into Sagittarius on August 3rd which brings positive energy. Until then we may still be instigating problems or arguments rather than dealing with issues directly. However, this can be a good time to learn more about our inner motivations and desires, as well as to reconsider old projects and interests. After the 29th, slowly but surely, confidence in our ability to assert ourselves and to effect change increases.
When Mars goes direct we will feel re-energized. The question to ask yourself until the 29th is “what in yourself needs a fresh start or new beginning.” What project has been on hold since April that can be launched next week?
It’s time to move forward.
A FULL MOON occurred on Monday morning at 4:02 AM PDT.
On Monday morning at 4:02 AM PDT, a Full Moon occurred, when the Gemini Sun opposes the Moon in Sagittarius.
This Full Moon is the second Full Moon in Sagittarius (the last Full Moon, in May, was also in Sagittarius), and is in the final degree of the sign. We may be getting final word on a matter. There can be a feeling of urgency to announce, close, or finalize a matter.
Once every thirty-plus years the Summer Solstice and Full Moon fall on the same day. This is a rare occurrence and should be revered. While the Full Moon occurred this morning, The Solstice occurred at 3:34 PM PDT. I guess it is appropriate that we honor the Sun on this Solstice on the hottest day of the year in Southern California.
Today, focus on doors opening and thinking positively. Let go of whatever habits do not serve you and welcome enrichment.
Summer has come in with a blast!
Have you been feeling a bit off recently? Are you a little tired, not as productive? Even a little depressed? Here are some insights as to how the cosmos may be affecting you.
Saturn and Neptune are squaring off. Remember a square occurs when two planets are 90 degrees away from each other. When Saturn forms a challenging angle to Neptune, we may experience depression. It is an internalized anger reaction to the “no” response to what we want or are trying to accomplish. Or, imagine this, it is bucket of ice water thrown in our face that cruelly awakens us out of an incredible dream. Ouch! When Saturn squares Neptune it is not saying no however. It is saying not now. The best advice I can give you currently is to keep your emotions out of your business dealings!
And now for some background (“Not something completely different”). I love obscure references ;-)
Saturn began to square Neptune in mid-May and forms an exact square with Neptune on the 17th – the second in a series that first came in November, 2015. When Saturn turns direct motion on August 13th, it begins to apply back to the square to Neptune. The exact square hits for the last time on September 11th. This energy will have stuck with us for much of 2016.
Saturn and Neptune represent opposite concepts. Saturn is all about karma, reality and obstacles. Neptune is dreamy and fantasy filled. We must ask ourselves if we are being realistic at this time. Some feelings of disillusionment can come now as our dreams and ideals can be put to the test. Questioning our faith in our dreams can lead to lack of follow-through or wasteful activities and avoidance of responsibilities. Ideally, this crisis leads to a realignment of material goals and spiritual ideals as we assess what is truly meaningful to us. Financial restrictions may seem to block our plans, or we could feel a sudden lack of inspiration. Be wise with money right now, don’t over extend credit.
We might be forced to face issues we’ve been avoiding or putting off, or deal with addictions, money drains, and other behaviors that have been dragging us down. Sacrifices may need to be made in order to gain materially or spiritually. It’s important to simplify and detoxify, but also reach out to others for support and guidance. Over the coming year, it will be important to take a hard look at our addictions, fears, and attitudes that have us chained to situations and that keep us from growing.
This is a time to stay away from fear and doubt. Let other people have their reality. If what others say and do does not fit with your reality, move on. If you have great ideas for projects, keep them to yourself right now so the doubters and nay-sayers can’t cast aspersions on your creations.
Create your reality and have a magnificent week. Please remember to laugh. And, as always thank you for your likes and responses. I appreciate it.
